Chairman Mao Zedong’s style cap.

This Mao cap was made famous by being a common headwear word by Chairman Mao Zedong of the Chinese Communist Party. The cap features a plastic 5 pointed red star sewn on to the front. The red star has its origins as a symbol of communist mass movements and dates from the time of the Bolshevik Revolution and the Russian Civil War in the early part of the 20th century. It has become a common symbol for communist ideology.
