The M85 is a licensed derivative of the German M65. It partially replaced the M74 in service however the M74 is still in production while the M85 isn't. A licensed copy of this mask was made in Iraq.
The industrial mask with straps, model M85, is used in environments with a minimum of 17% oxygen in the air for individual protection of the respiratory tract, eyes and face against toxic substances in the form of gases, vapors or aerosols, together with a filter appropriate to the noxious agent and its concentration.
The mask is made of an olive green chemically resistant neoprene rubber featuring two rounded triangular eye pieces, a round exhale valve, an orinasal cup that prevents mask from fogging, and a STANAG 4155 threaded inlet located on the chin of the mask. The mask was issued with a CF-4, or nowadays with a CFS filter and a vinyl haversack which is attached to the wearers belt and slung over the shoulder.
M85 comes with a hydration system tube and improved straps.
The mask is made in 3 sizes: I, II, III; I is the largest.
Sold for display and collection only with no guarantee about chemical resistance.
