The Flag of India, adopted in it’s present form on the 22nd of July 1947 is made up of three horizontal rectangles, featuring India Saffron, white and India green, with  the Ashoka chakra, a 24 spoke wheel in navy blue, at it’s centre. As dictated by Indian law, the flag is to be made of Khadi, which is a special type of hand spun cloth or silk made popular by Mahatma Ghandi.
