Apollo 11 Mission Patch History
The original Apollo 11 mission insignia was created for the historic 1969 mission that achieved the first crewed landing on the Moon. Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins were involved in developing the emblem. Rather than featuring their individual names, the crew chose a design intended to represent the wider Apollo programme team and everyone who contributed to the mission.
